Mitchell Steven Behm

Coto de Caza, California - Owner of a Lake Elsinore, California exotic animal business accused of cruelty after thousands of dead and dying rats and reptiles found at the "filthy" facility.

Behm pleaded guilty to 12 counts of misdemeanor Animal Cruelty and was sentenced to five years of probation and 200 hours of community service. In addition, Behm was ordered to pay $102,000 to the city of Lake Elsinore and $88,000 to PETA for their parts in the investigation and clean-up. Behm cannot have animals or be part of animal-related businesses as a term of probation.
